"Sorry, we cannot check private or limited profiles" when I try to join your Steam group?

To be able to join our Steam group, Steam requires that: 

• Your Steam account's profile is "Public" and NOT "private" or "friend's only".
• You must have purchased games worth USD5.00 (or more) from the Steam web store or added at least USD5.00 to more to your Steam wallet.

To change your Steam account's profile do the following within the Steam client application:

1. First display your Steam profile. This can be done in several ways:
   
   
   • Click the "Profile" option that appears when you move your mouse over your Steam username to the right of the word "COMMUNITY":
     
     
     
     
   • In the upper right corner, click the downward pointing arrow next to your Steam account's username and then click "View my profile":
     
     
     
     
2. Click the "Edit Profile" button:
   
   
   
   
3. Click the "My Privacy Settings" link:
   
   
   
   
4. Set "My profile" to "Public":
   
   
   
   
5. Review the sub-settings and change them as you require
