Stronghold HD - multiplayer

Stronghold HD uses "gameranger" to provide multiplayer functionality. Refer to the following article for information:

Gameranger requires DirectPlay, which is not installed by default on Windows 10.

To install DirectPlay on Windows 10...

Either:

1. Go to Control Panel
2. Click "Programs"
3. Click "Turn Windows Features on or off"
4. Expand the "Legacy Components" branch and tick "DirectPlay"
5. Click "OK".
6. Wait for a while for your PC to finish with everything, and the PC will need to reboot as well.

Or:

1. Open "Settings"
2. Click "Apps"
3. Scroll to the bottom to find the "Related Settings" heading and click "Programs and Features"
4. Click "Turn Windows Features on or off"
5. Expand the "Legacy Components" branch and tick "DirectPlay"
6. Click "OK".
7. Wait for a while for your PC to finish with everything, and the PC will need to reboot as well.
